5 sweet treats under 200 calories

Many people believe that snacking is consistent with weight gain and falling off the “healthy eating” wagon.  What you may not realise is that it is not the snacking that is causing the weight gain but rather the types of snacks.

In 2010 the University of North Carolina identified that most people consume a third of their daily food in the form of snacks. With convenience stores open 24 hours a day and chocolate being cheap as chips (pun intended!) it is no wonder snacking has been linked to weight gain.

Here’s some good news. Snacking has actually been linked to weight loss. Just be sure to make smart choices. Opt for snacks that are both high in fibre and less than 200 calories. This will fill you up, not fill you out.

Here are 5 favourite sweet treats that have been revamped into a healthy snack.
