What is 1 Million Acts of Kindness?
1 Million Acts of Kindness is an 8 week challenge designed to encourage us to perform random acts of kindness to ourselves, loved ones, acquaintances, strangers, animals and even the environment - to help create a happier, healthier and more trusting environment.
Why participate in 1 Million Acts of Kindness?
As part of the Millions family (following on from 1 Million Kilo Challenge) we are moving on from health to changing the world. One kind act at a time.
Think about how happy you feel when a stranger smiles at you in the street, when you donate to charity, take your dog for a walk, help someone at the park fly their kite, offer your seat to someone on the tram, or compliment your partner on how dashing they look – these are all acts of kindness, and all contribute to a happier, kinder way of life.
The challenge will keep you motivated with FREE weekly plans, kindness suggestions, heartwarming stories, instructional videos, personalised tools and trackers, and much more.
So, let’s see if we can make Australia a happier and more livable place for us all.
How to join
Registering is easy! Simply follow these steps:
1. Click “Join Now” on home page.
2. Click the yellow “Register myself" or "Register a team” button in the banner
3. Fill in the form
4. Choose a team name and invite team members, if you've registered a team
5. Pledge how many acts of kindness you will make per week
The challenge kicks off on Monday the 14th May 2012. Each week we'll focus on a different theme by emailing you weekly plans full of inspiring ideas on how to carry out your acts of kindness, get involved in your community, start a fundraising page, or even just bake a cake for a friend in need. All of these things will count towards our target of 1 Million Acts of Kindness nationally.
