Re: Austere August

30 weeks Kazmak???  Just how much have you lost in that time?

I am out for lunch tomorrow to meet an Aussie friend who's in town.  Then my husband invited me for dinner with another out of town friend.  I am trying to back out of dinner.  Too much of a good thing, honestly.

Went for a bike ride this afternoon, but not much after that.  It's hard to focus on anything except the huge mess in the house right now.  I did manage to clean the old range and it's probably sold and out of here tomorrow evening.  A quick $100 to help pay for all the expenses we've had with this renovation.

Dinner was a salad of grilled chicken and lettuce and assorted condiments, prepared in the makeshift kitchen.  Thank goodness we will have our kitchen back by the end of the week.

Re: Austere August

I have lost 18kg - and only put on a little bit 3 times then lost it and more the following week.  So very slow and steady for me. Must be so hard without a kitchen :[

Re: Austere August

Hey Kazmak, my weight is down a bit more this morning, so I won't complain about the lack of kitchen yet.  It's more that the kitchen furnishings are all over the livingroom.  Thanks goodness we have a big house so the upstairs and basement are quite liveable.

Great weight loss for you!!!  No wonder you are getting so many compliments.

Re: Austere August

Lunch out yesterday - I ate 1/2 and brought the rest home.  Dinner out - I drank huge amounts of water, had a duck on greens salad.  I was so proud of my self-control.  Yeah me!

Re: Austere August

Thanks Kazmak.  I couldn't face cooking last night, so I picked up some middle-eastern pies.  High salt and fat, I guess.  It showed on the scale this morning.  Plus, I should have had only a 1/2 portion.  I ended up with heartburn last night.
On a brighter note, I took my daughter to a breast cancer fund raiser - fashion show.  She enjoyed the food and a glass of wine, I had a large bottle of water.
I am liking how I'm finding activities that don't involve eating.
First day of work for me today.  The floor should be done by tomorrow morning, then we can move the furniture back in and reclaim our kitchen.  I'll be glad to have a cooktop again.
