Substitutions for Slim Pasta?Quick question - as our finances are a little stretched, can we substitute rice noodles for the slim pasta? It seems to have slightly more calories & is probably not as nutritious, but not as bad as regular pasta.

Re: Substitutions for Slim Pasta?Monty, it's my belief that any change, no matter how small, all counts. *S* If you already have rice noodles, and for any reason are unable to use the slim pasta, then go for it.

Re: Substitutions for Slim Pasta? Thanks, thought so, but the hubby was hoping for a slightly cheaper option!! Ah well, I guess the money saved on hospital bills & medication as we age will make up for it!

Re: Substitutions for Slim Pasta?I thought the slim pasta was the super lo cal version - perhaps they have a standard one also? I will use brown rice vermicelli which I 'imported' from Singapore for $1 but not very much of it.... oh and btw, better to have wholemeal or high fibre wheat pasta if you are going to substitute - rice noodles are generally like white rice crackers - empty calories

Re: Substitutions for Slim Pasta? Thanks Justine - good point. I'd never heard of brown rice vermicelli before. Will definitely look into it. Thanks for the tip!
